About the event
This event is organised by Dharma Mati Berlin
This weekend retreat focuses on the profound text 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas by Gyalse Tokme Zangpo—a classic text of Tibetan Buddhism that provides practical guidance for compassion, wisdom, and courageous action in everyday life. These teachings provide concrete ideas on how we can transform difficult situations, develop altruistic motivation, and train our minds. The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas is a timeless guide on the path to awakening in our modern times. A special highlight of the event is the Medicine Buddha Empowerment. This initiation connects us with the healing power of the Medicine Buddha—for the benefit of our own physical and mental health and for the benefit of all beings. It is considered a powerful support in times of illness, uncertainty, and inner healing. The event is open to everyone—both those with prior knowledge of Buddhism and those who are interested in exploring the Tibetan Buddhist path for the first time. Rinpoche is known for his extraordinary intelligence and great sense of humor.
His Eminence, the 7th Kyabjé Yongzin Ling Rinpoche, was born on November 18, 1985, in India. After the death of his mother, he was taken to the Tibetan Children's Village in Dharamsala until His Holiness the Dalai Lama recognized him as the reincarnation of his main teacher, H.H. the 6th Ling Rinpoche. Ling Rinpoche entered Drepung Monastery University in South India in 1990 at the age of five and began his monastic studies there at the age of ten. Rinpoche received his Geshe degree in November 2016. Since 1991, he has been giving teachings and tantric initiations in many countries in Asia and Europe, as well as North and Central America and Australia. Since 2004, Ling Rinpoche has participated in the Mind and Life Institute dialogues together with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In November 2012, Ling Rinpoche was involved in a serious car accident. Rinpoche suffered severe injuries that required lengthy operations, and his full recovery took several years.
