About the event

In today’s world, it’s easy to lose your orientation in the ocean of spiritual offerings. A kind of “compass” would truly be helpful at times!

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to explore – or revisit – Buddhism from the ground up, whether out of pure curiosity or as a foundation for their own Buddhist practice.

The course is hybrid, meaning it includes two in-person retreats per year at the Tārāvana Center in Windeck, as well as regular online sessions (via Zoom).

Study retreat 1:

Why you are (not) a Buddhist

In this retreat, we will explore together what truly makes someone a “Buddhist” – while also questioning common misunderstandings, stereotypes, and romanticized ideas.

At the same time, the retreat offers an introduction to the essence of Buddhism, making it ideal for both beginners and more advanced practitioners. Topics: History of Buddhism, Buddhist philosophy and practice

Teacher: Arne Schelling

Language: German

Start: June 12, 2025

Fees: on a donation basis (plus accommodation and meals on site)
